Following the original Sarah Kay’s designs, ANRI has produced a series of figurines in alpine maple wood. Each figurine is handcrafted and handpainted in delicate pastel colours and is about 4 inches height. They can be purchased separately.
Seguendo i disegni originali di Sarah Kay, ANRI ha prodotto una serie di figurine in legno di acero. Ogni figurina è realizzata a mano e dipinta con delicati colori in tinte pastello. Misurano 10 cm d’altezza e possono essere acquistate separatamente.

 Sarah KaySarah Kay, una casalinga di un sobborgo di Sidney, Australia, aveva sempre amato disegnare. Dopo aver studiato all’Accademia dell’Arte, all’età di 20 anni Sarah iniziò a lavorare per un’agenzia pubblicitaria. I disegni che comunque le diedero la fama furono realizzati in un momento di grande ansia: la sua piccola figlia Allison era molto malata e Sarah preparava per lei dei disegni allo scopo di distrarla. Sarah disegnava bambini felici in un ambiente sereno come quello che lei stessa aveva assaporato da bambina nella fattoria dei suoi nonni. Un giorno vendette i suoi disegni ad un editore di cartoline augurali e le sue incantevoli creazioni incontrarono subito il favore del pubblico. Oggi, Sarah Kay è conosciuta in tutto il mondo. Il crescente successo dei suoi disegni è dovuto al fatto che essi richiamano alla mente i momenti spensierati che ognuno di noi ha vissuto nel corso della propria infanzia. I disegni di Sarah Kay sono stati magnificamente riprodotti sotto forma di statuine di legno dal maestro scultore Ulrich Bernardi. 
Sarah Kay, a housewife in a suburb of Sidney, Australia, had always been fond of drawing. She had studied at an Art Academy and at the age of 20 she had started to work for an advertising agency. The designs which brought her great success, however, were made during a period of great anxiety: her little daughter, Allison, was badly ill and to distract her, Sarah Kay began to draw. She designed happy children in a peaceful environment like the one she had known herself on her grandparents’ farm. One day she sold some of these designs to a greeting card publisher. The lovely, richly detailed renditions appealed the public immediately. Nowadays, Sarah Kay is known all over the world. The overwhelming success of her designs is due to the fact that they remind people of their own childhood. Sarah Kay’s designs have been magnificently “translated” into wooden figurines by Master Sculptor Ulrich Bernardi. |
Ulrich Bernardi Ulrich Bernardi è originario di Ortisei, capoluogo della Val Gardena, in Alto Adige, Italia. Nel corso dei suoi studi superiori presso la locale scuola d’arte, viene alla luce il suo straordinario talento e già durante i primi anni di apprendistato scopre la sua particolare passione per le figure del presepe, un amore che non abbandonerà mai. Con il passare degli anni sviluppa uno stile molto personale che contraddistingue ogni sua creazione. Le sue opere sono da tempo conosciute anche all’estero ed in numerose mostre ha sempre trovato un riscontro estremamente positivo.
Ulrich Bernardi was born in Ortisei, in the Grödner Valley, Italy. His extraordinary talent for sculpture was revealed while he was at the local art school. During his apprenticeship, he discovered his passion for nativity carving, which never left him. In time, he developed his own personal style that identifies every one of his creations. Ulrich Bernardi is well known also abroad, not only in his homeland and his works have won prizes at many exhibitions. |
