Gunther Granget

Gunther Granget, nato a Karlsruhe/Baden in Germania, è considerato dai critici e dai collezzionisti uno dei migliori scultori viventi. Dopo un’infanzia spensierata vissuta nell’amore e nell’affetto della sua famiglia, Gunther si trovò improvvisamente a dover crescere quando, all’età di 11 anni, la guerra gli portò via entrambi i genitori ed il fratello. Suo padre gli aveva però insegnato ad amare la natura e a prendere ispirazione da essa: fu così che Gunther Granget sviluppò presto il suo interesse per la creazione figurativa. Il suo primo mezzo espressivo fu la porcellana, un nobile e fragile materiale ottenuto dalla terra e dal fuoco. Gunther scoprì poi un altro materiale, il cui calore e naturalezza subito lo incantarono: il legno. Gunther ha esposto le sue opere in famosi musei e gallerie d’arte in tutto il mondo. I suoi studi lo hanno condotto in lungo ed in largo per l’Europa, le Americhe e l’Africa. Da vero artista qual’è, Gunther Granget considera la sua vita un costante sviluppo, in cui l’apprendimento gioca il ruolo principale.

Born in Karlsruhe/Baden, Germany, Gunther Granget is considered by critics and by collectors to be one of the world’s finest living sculptors. After a carefree childhood spent in the love and affection of his family, at the age of 11, he suddenly had to grow up: the war took away his father, mother and brother. Anyway, his father had taught him to love nature and to gather inspiration from it and Gunther Granget soon developed his interest in figurative creation. His first medium was china, a noble and fragile material obtained from earth and fire. Then he discovered another material, which warmth and naturalness enchanted him immediately: the wood. Gunther Granget has made exhibitions in famous museums and galleries all over the world. His studies led him throughout Europe, America and Africa. As the true artist he is, Gunther Granget considers his life to be a constant development where learning is the essential part.
